THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR ROSÉ DISCOVERY TOUR IN FRANCE:

If you want the freshness of white but the body of a red, there nothing like a good Tavel Rosé from the Rhone valley. And if the day is hot and you have a lunch on the beach with all the Provence has to offer, we love to get a Campaux Cotes de Provence. Indeed we keep drinking it at home bringing up memories of that summer spent in South France!

Domaine de la Mordorée Tavel:

We had this excellent Tavel at the hotel La Begoude around the corner from the iconic Pont du Gare. Tavel is a small patch just opposite of Chateaux-Neuf-du-Pape in the Rhone Valley which is specialized in making full-bodied Rosé wines. And how good it is at this! La Reine de Bois is mixing grapes of Grenache, Clairette, Cinsault, Syrah and Bourboulenc to make a light red Rosé of great complexity with that typical forest strawberry finish. Magic!

Domaine des Campaux Cotes de Provence:

There are hundreds, if not thousands of Rosé wines from and around Cotes de Provence, but of all the ones we tried so far, this one stands out: Les Cannissons. We keep ordering it, we keep drinking it, and it's so good every time! Perfect for those hot days of summer, with the buzz of bees and scent of flowers, it makes us feel on holiday with every glass. We enjoy it with almost everything, maybe except heavy beef stews. A mix of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mouvèdre grapes and the special terroir of Provence makes it lighter in color and body, but still rich in flavour and of refreshing crispyness.
